Lanto Dg. Pasewang

Lanto Daeng Pasewang merupakan tokoh pejuang kemerdekaan dari Sulawesi Selatan. Sebelum Proklamasi 17 Agustus 1945, dia bergabung dengan Sumber Darah Rakyat, lembaga propaganda kemerdekaan Indonesia besutan Doktor Sam Ratulangie. Di organisasi yang terbentuk pada 9 Juli 1945 itu, Daeng Pasewang didampuk sebagai ketua. Gubernur Sulawesi yang keempat adalah Lanto Daeng Pasewang.

Pria asal jeneponto yang terlibat dalam berbagai gerakan perlawanan melawan penjajah untuk merebut kemerdekaan dan juga dalam memertahankan kemerdekaan Indonesia, menjabat gubernur pada 1953 hingga 1956. Atas jasa-jasanya dan jabatan yang pernah diembannya sebagai Gubernur Sulawesi, nama Lanto Daeng Pasewang kemudian banyak diabadikan sebagai nama jalan di Sulawesi Selatan, dan juga diabadikan sebagai nama rumah sakit umum daerah di Jeneponto.

Lanto Daeng Pasewang is a figure fighter for independence from South Sulawesi. Before the Proclamation of August 17, 1945, he joined the People's Blood Source, a propaganda organization for Indonesian independence created by Doctor Sam Ratulangie. In the organization that was formed on July 9, 1945, Daeng Pasewang was appointed as chairman. The fourth governor of Sulawesi is Lanto Daeng Pasewang.

The man from Jeneponto who was involved in various resistance movements against the colonialists to seize independence and also in defending Indonesia's independence, served as governor from 1953 to 1956. For his services and the position he had held as Governor of Sulawesi, the name Lanto Daeng Pasewang was later immortalized as a name. road in South Sulawesi, and is also immortalized as the name of a regional general hospital in Jeneponto.
