Andi Sultan Dg.Raja

Haji Andi Sultan Daeng Radja lahir di Bulukumba 20 Mei 1894 dan meninggal di Makassar 17 Mei 1963 pada usia 68 tahun, adalah seorang tokoh kemerdekaan Indonesia dan pahlawan nasional dari Sulawesi Selatan. Ia adalah putra pertama pasangan Passari Petta Tanra Karaeng Gantarang dan Andi Ninong.

Tanggal 2 April 1921, pemerintah memutuskan untuk mengangkat Andi Sultan Daeng Radja menjadi pejabat sementara Distrik Hadat Gantarang.Ia menggantikan Andi Mappamadeng Daeng Malette yang undur diri karena tidak bisa lagi bekerja sama dengan pemerintah kolonial Belanda.

Andi Sultan Daeng Radja sendiri menjadi pejuang yang menentang penjajahan kolonial Belanda sejak ia duduk di OSVIA.Semangatnya dalam memperjuangkan bangsa Indonesia semakin berkobat setelah ia aktif di organsisasi, seperti Budi Utomo dan Serikat Dagang Islam.Ia bahkan secara diam-diam mengikuti Kongres Pemuda Indonesia pada 28 Oktober 1928, yang dikenal dengan Sumpah Pemuda.Bersama dengan Dr Ratulangi dan Andi Pangareng Pettarani, Andi Sultan Daeng Radja, diutus sebagai wakil Sulawesi Selatan mengikuti rapat Panitia Persiapan Kemerdekaan Indonesia (PPKI) di Jakarta. Usai rapat, Sultan Daeng Radja kembali ke Bulukumba. Ia menjelaskan kepada rakyatnya mengenai hasil rapat PPKI. Usai rapat, Sultan Daeng Radja kembali ke Bulukumba. Akhir Agustus 1945, Andi Sultan Daeng Radja mengusulkan pembentukan organisasi Persatuan Pergerakan Nasional Indonesia (PPNI). PPNI dibentuk sebagai wadah untuk menghimpun pemuda dalam rangka mengamankan dan membela negara Indonesia.

Haji Andi Sultan Daeng Radja (born in Bulukumba 20 May 1894 and died in Makassar 17 May 1963 at the age of 68 years) was an Indonesian independence figure and a national hero from South Sulawesi. He was the first son of the couple Passari Petta Tanra Karaeng Gantarang and Andi Ninong.

On April 2, 1921, the government decided to appoint Andi Sultan Daeng Radja as a temporary official of the Hadat Gantarang District. He replaced Andi Mappamadeng Daeng Malette who resigned because he could no longer cooperate with Dutch colonial government.

Andi Sultan Daeng Radja himself became a fighter against the Dutch colonial occupation since he was in OSVIA. His enthusiasm for fighting for the Indonesian nation grew stronger after he became active in organizations, such as Budi Utomo and the Islamic Trade Union. He even secretly participated in the Indonesian Youth Congress in October 28, 1928, known as the Youth Pledge. Together with Dr Ratulangi and Andi Pangareng Pettarani, Andi Sultan Daeng Radja, was sent as a representative of South Sulawesi to attend a meeting of the Preparatory Committee for Indonesian Independence (PPKI) in Jakarta. At the end of August 1945, Andi Sultan Daeng Radja proposed the formation of the Indonesian National Movement Association (PPNI). PPNI was formed as a forum to gather youth in order to secure and defend the Indonesian state.
